I take that back. Douglas did beat Sturgis 27-14 last week. (11A Belle Fourche was their other win.) The Patriots only play 3 other AA/AAA's this year, Rapid City Central, Spearfish and Huron.

Nice job JH mentioning the close USD wins last year. I keep hearing how close we were to being 6-6. But how close were we to being 2-10? Guess that's a rhetorical question....

Yes, Douglas is still bad at football. They are 2-0, but have played two teams below AA.

A couple of Bucks notes: Levi Kabella sprained his surgically-repaired knee. He will be back, but probably not this week.Bradey Sorensen will likely miss the game due to the funeral of a family member....

Agreed. Plus I highly doubt anyone, including the Bison, go 7-1 this season

I think that game may decide the MVFC, but I haven't seen anything that would make me bet against the Bison any time soon.

With SDSU losing Sumner, does that make NDSU and UNI the clear-cut favorites in the league? UNI vs. NDSU in the Dome on Nov. 8.

Nobody out there with any Bucks or SDSU or other questions? I find this surprising. We know we've got loyal sports fans out there.

flip that order, actually....Youngstown State was first, then Montana, and then came SDSU

Good point, but how many of those close losses did USD have a lead in the 4th quarter?
View Article4:09 jeremyhoeck
Exactly. Consider last season the Coyotes lost games by 6, 4 and 4 points....4-8 could have been 7-5.....then again, USD had wins by 3, 3, 3 and 7 points

This might be the week we find out if USD made progress in learning how to win close games.

Montana is dealing with injuries as well. Their starting QB sat out last week due to concussions. Haven't heard about this week yet.

USD's defensive line has been thin, yes, without Nick Jacobs and Adam Praska, among others. Joe Glenn sounded rather confident on both, but I'll ask for a progress report today. There were times against...
