They've played Roosevelt, O'Gorman and a bunch of creampuffs so far. The boys are 4-1-1 and, because of strength of schedule, are a 7-seed right now. Girls are 3-1-2 and a 5.

Seems like Yankton has done quite well in the move to sanctioned soccer.

They looked like world-beaters when we saw them last week. Granted it was against the White Sox.

I'm sure we'll have that conversation after the season when the Twins make a decision either way....

On that note from James' tweet .... my obvious #firegardy response

RT @petersdsp: ALERT: Tonight's @Twins game has been rained out. It will be made up tomorrow as a double-header.

That's a great question Jeremy. They have been coached up a lot, too. But they aren't getting these coveted prospects everyone does need at some point. While I think they can do better than a Purdue,...

As far as whether or not it is good for the MVFC or the FCS, I think any positive attention you can bring to the league can only help the league.

The Bison might have a good D and Michigan has a QB that loves to turn the ball over, not a good combo.

I'd really wonder about NDSU being able to recruit to that level...finding success right now with kids who were overlooked by the big boys, and then developing them. If you're in, say, the Big...

Right now Michigan can't even walk into the Big House and compete....
View Article4:22 James D. Cimburek
I don't think they're ready to walk into the Horseshoe or the Big House and compete.
View Article4:21 James D. Cimburek
I think they'd consider FBS if a conference fit could be found. They could maybe compete with the bottom half of the Big 10 in some sports, but not all.

Another great point, 94grad....as 2012 proved, there's really not that big of a difference between 1-10 and 4-8,

Is what's going on in Fargo, is that good for FCS? Does it help or hurt USD/SDSU? It raises the bar for everyone, but is what NDSU doing just illogical for anyone to hope for? Should they consider the...

I take that back. Douglas did beat Sturgis 27-14 last week. (11A Belle Fourche was their other win.) The Patriots only play 3 other AA/AAA's this year, Rapid City Central, Spearfish and Huron.

Nice job JH mentioning the close USD wins last year. I keep hearing how close we were to being 6-6. But how close were we to being 2-10? Guess that's a rhetorical question....
View Article4:19 James D. Cimburek
Yes, Douglas is still bad at football. They are 2-0, but have played two teams below AA.

A couple of Bucks notes: Levi Kabella sprained his surgically-repaired knee. He will be back, but probably not this week.Bradey Sorensen will likely miss the game due to the funeral of a family member....

For example, USD beating a top-5 Montana team and later top-25 Northern Arizona would sure help.

Bison are still the favorite, but the Panthers did get robbed against Iowa ... so with those two as the clear-cut favorites, how many playoffs spots should the MVC get? Did early injuries put a big...

Agreed. Plus I highly doubt anyone, including the Bison, go 7-1 this season
View Article4:14 James D. Cimburek
I think that game may decide the MVFC, but I haven't seen anything that would make me bet against the Bison any time soon.
View Article4:14 Comment From Justin
With SDSU losing Sumner, does that make NDSU and UNI the clear-cut favorites in the league? UNI vs. NDSU in the Dome on Nov. 8.

Nobody out there with any Bucks or SDSU or other questions? I find this surprising. We know we've got loyal sports fans out there.

flip that order, actually....Youngstown State was first, then Montana, and then came SDSU

Good point, but how many of those close losses did USD have a lead in the 4th quarter?
View Article4:09 jeremyhoeck
Exactly. Consider last season the Coyotes lost games by 6, 4 and 4 points....4-8 could have been 7-5.....then again, USD had wins by 3, 3, 3 and 7 points
